Who we are
This website and online shop are operated by Griffs Family Butchers Ltd ("we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 10541769, whose registered office is 175 Lower Blandford Road, Broadstone, Dorset, BH18 8DH. We are the data controller for the personal information described below. Contact: 01202 605172, sean.griffsbutchers@outlook.com.
What we collect and why
- When you place an order, we collect your name, delivery address, email, phone number, order details and, for deliveries, your chosen delivery slot. We use this to take payment, cut and prepare your order, and arrange collection or delivery. Checkout and payment are handled by Shopify on our behalf; we never see or store your full card details.
- When you contact us through the website form, we collect your name, email, phone (if given) and message, so we can reply. These enquiries are delivered to our inbox by our email provider, Resend.
- When you browse, a small essential cookie stores your basket so it is not lost between pages. We also use Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics tool, to count visits. Umami does not use cookies and does not track you across other websites.
Lawful bases
We process your information to perform our contract with you (fulfilling orders), for our legitimate interests (running and improving the shop, and responding to enquiries), and to meet legal obligations such as accounting and tax records.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with the providers that help us run the shop: Shopify (store and checkout), our payment provider, Resend (delivering contact-form emails), Sandbanks Digital (who build and look after this website for us, and who can see contact-form enquiries), and anyone we use to make a delivery. Each of them acts on our instructions under a contract. Our contact page shows a Google Maps view of the shop; when that map loads, your IP address is sent to Google in order to display it. We do not sell your personal information.
Where your information is held
Some of the providers above are based outside the UK, or store information outside the UK. Where that happens we require them by contract to protect your information to the standard UK law expects, using the safeguards the law provides for transfers of this kind. If you would like to know more about the arrangements for a particular provider, please ask us.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet our legal and accounting obligations, typically six years for tax purposes. Contact-form enquiries are kept only as long as needed to deal with them.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or ask us to delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details above. If you have a concern we cannot resolve, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
